Project description:

The goal of the project is the development of the industrial  method of  production of VCSELs with transparent top electrode and noncircular aperture, which enable high efficiency of the conversion of electrical power into coherent laser emission.  VIGO’s task is to manufacture epi-structures with high optical parameters, repeatability and uniformity, as required by this type of VCSEL. The growth will be followed by device development and characterisation. VCSELs are commonly used in numerous emerging applications such as short-distance communication systems, LIDARs, time-of-flight sensors, autonomous vehicles, robots and drones.
