Graphene has shown to possess physical properties that make it suitable for light detecting with unique characteristics. The main goal of the project was to exploit these properties for the development of graphene-based infrared photodetectors with unique properties.

The main assumption was to obtain a very high speed of detector operation, exceeding that achievable in uncooled infrared detectors based on narrow-gap semiconductors.
